Do you think the bowie song Space Oddity is about drugs or literally about a spaceman?

Space. It came out in the same year Apollo 11 got to the moon, so everyone was really into space at the time. And obviously whenever you talk about space in a rock song people think it's about drugs, so he could claim extra cool/mystique points. ;)
